Covid-19 is dangerously impacting the social-economic category of musicians. No concerts, poor political and social consideration, uncertain earnings. As a consequence, an ever-growing number of musicians, especially those from the experimental area, are trying to promote their music on BandCamp in digital format only. It is increasingly difficult for me to follow and review this incredible flow of music. I therefore decided to open this section on my blog Neuguitars where I propose music in digital format that I consider particularly interesting and worthy of attention. I hope you like it. Let’s support musicians. They need it.
THE MASSARON MILLEVOI CONNECTION by The Massaron Millevoi connection, Long Song Records, 2020 on #neuguitars #blog
Blasting through your speakers with the chilling oblique vibe of a David Lynch movie soundtrack, the music by the Massaron Millevoi Connection (a nascent collaboration between two of the most versatile and eclectic talents currently on the guitar scene, Simone Massaron and Nick Millevoi) stretches and expands over a boiling pot of musical landscapes.
Just try to imagine the fierce lines of Neil Young driven guitar tones mixed with a stone-cold hypnotic rhythm section, evoking echoes of Krautrock and segue into explosive overdriven exotica trips supported by slow moments of psych jazz and wild improvisations. And don’t forget an exciting and sparkling guitar duet that will spill inventive notes all around you.
So, not your usual “cerebral guitar record” – on this recording rock and jazz abandon themselves on the shores of physical and rewarding waves of loud music.
