Covid-19 is dangerously impacting the social-economic category of musicians. No concerts, poor political and social consideration, uncertain earnings. As a consequence, an ever-growing number of musicians, especially those from the experimental area, are trying to promote their music on BandCamp in digital format only. It is increasingly difficult for me to follow and review this incredible flow of music. I therefore decided to open this section on my blog Neuguitars where I propose music in digital format that I consider particularly interesting and worthy of attention. I hope you like it. Let’s support musicians. They need it.
Live at Singularity Music Series II by Elliott Sharp & Álvaro Domene, Illuso Records, 2020 on #neuguitars #blog
Iluso Records presents the second release on the new series of live concert recordings from the Singularity Music Series held monthly in Kingston, NY.
This time, we are presenting a fantastic avant-guitar duo performance of spontaneously composed music by Elliott Sharp and Álvaro Domene.
Sharp and Domene have collaborated in recent times both in the studio and live in concert, in such projects as Expressed By The Circumference, with drummer Mike Caratti (ilusorecords.bandcamp.com/album/expressed-by-the-circumference), and with avant-metal quartet PHONON, with Weasel Walter and Colin Marston (weaselwalter.bandcamp.com/album/alloy). On this live recording, their first public duo performance was beautifully documented by Dane Johnson in front of a enthusiastic and captivated audience at the Singularity loft in Kingston, New York.
Due to their shared fascination for the cosmos, the 4 pieces on this recording were titled after the four primary sources of observational evidence for the big bang theory:
2- Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation
3- Structure Formation
4- Primordial nucleosynthesis
