I Never Metaguitar 5 presented by Elliott Sharp, Klanggalerie , 2021 on #neuguitars #blog

Dear friends

Covid-19 is dangerously impacting the social-economic category of musicians. No concerts, poor political and social consideration, uncertain earnings. As a consequence, an ever-growing number of musicians, especially those from the experimental area, are trying to promote their music on BandCamp in digital format only. It is increasingly difficult for me to follow and review this incredible flow of music. I therefore decided to open this section on my blog Neuguitars where I propose music in digital format that I consider particularly interesting and worthy of attention. I hope you like it. Let’s support musicians. They need it.

Klanggalerie are happy to continue a series of outstanding guitar music that was started by Clean Feed. “…and there are five! Here we are with a 5th volume of this on-going compilation covering «the parallel realities of contemporary guitarism». This latest collection of guitar pieces reflects once again the never-ending joy of hearing fabulous sonic visions with the guitar or its derivatives as the main subject. You may not already know every chosen guitarist, but you will now thanks to this series of recordings. Some don’t need presentations thanks to their very visible contributions to various musical ventures: Jerome Harris, Norman Westberg, Will Bernard, Mike Baggetta. They, and all the others, are «players with one foot in the future and one in the past, a formula that puts one’s ass directly in THE NOW». Once having gotten a taste, the listener will want to check out everyone’s output. Is any other instrument capable of such a multitude of creative musical expressions? E# – NYC.
