Ivan Bringas, guitarist and composer, studied classical guitar while finding himself in contact with the emerging improvisational movements of Mexico City. His education begins with his parents, both artists, and continues in Montessori schools. He began studying piano at 6 and at 7 the guitar with his father, a musician. At the age of 10 he entered the Escuela Nacional de Música (National School of Music) of the UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México) to study guitar with the masters Juan Carlos Laguna and Marco Iván López Miranda until 2012, obtaining a first degree degree. He also studies flamenco technique, jazz and improvisation. Ivan deepened his training in contact with characters such as Leo Brower, Víctor Villadangos and Fred Frith. He has collaborated with musicians such as Peter Uzkyla, Eliott Levin, Mike Cooper, Emilio Gordoa, Misha Marks, German Bringas and others. He has played successfully presenting his projects in Mexico, Berlin, Paris, Rome and Turin. From the end of 2007 he began to develop the “Guitarra Expansiva” (“Expansive Guitar”) project starting from the invention of his “Mobile Leader”, on which he continues to work at present. In 2010 in Mexico he received the Educación artística 2010 award from INBA (Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes) for creating the “Guitarra Expansiva” methodology, which includes a CD with 10 compositions and related scores. In 2011 he recorded the methodology and the music composed for “Guitarra Expansiva” in the Public Register of Copyright in Mexico City.
Since 2010, he has performed in festivals, clubs, associations and restaurants. Among which:
· -He was presented as a soloist at the “Corde Pizzicate” festivals 2014 and 2015, Turin, Italy.
· -Cafe des Arts, Turin, Italy 2014
· -3 days a week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) presents his arrangements of Latin American music for guitar in the restaurant “Habanero”, Turin, Italy 2014-2015-2016
He made 3 record productions, two for the Mexican label Jazzorca records, “nuevas composiciones para guitarra” in 2007 and “Guitarra Expansiva” in 2011, and one for the Italian label Objet-a, “que viva s’aninnia” in 2015 .
